All these guys hold their own special place in my heart, but Rune really left her print on us. She was my fiance's heart rat, and one of the most unique ladies I've had the pleasure of experiencing. Echo was also a special case. This was his final litter due to him developing hormonal aggression later in life. He was much happier on his own and spending time with us. He is the only rat I've ever had successfully alone, which is why lone rats are not something I condone. Typically, they become very depressed, he did the opposite though. Rune had a black hood with standard ears, and came from the same breeder Sylvi came from in Florida. GOT Echo was a mink double Rex with dumbo ears, produced from Sylvi and Carl. Rune passed without having any health issues other than a stroke 6 months before she passed naturally. She live to be 2.5 years old. Echo had to be helped to cross over due to him developing HLD (hind leg deterioration). HLD prevents them from using their back legs, which causes pressure and pain on their spine in severe cases. He was able to live with it for 3 months before it became severe at 2.5 years old. It's always so heartbreaking to see these guys go, but they give so many amazing memories that it's all worth it.
