Some exciting news! We have three degu litters right now. Quite the baby boom from not having any! It's been almost a year since my last degu babies, so I'm excited to finally have more!
The first litter, Pansy x Briar, was born Feb. 18th. They surprised me because I thought they didn't end up making it. I hadn't noticed Pansy nursing them and also couldn't find them in the cage. They ended up being hidden between the layers of their favorite fabric hide. Imagine my shock when I saw little babies running around a week later All are healthy and doing well. There is one runty male, but he is otherwise healthy. Their tails are all a bit shorter (they're delicate and can deglove easily). I'm not sure if the cats got them through the cage, or if the adults got too overzealous with grooming. Aside from their tails being short, they are all doing well! I will be keeping one of the males. Three males are blue agouti, and one agouti. The female is blue agouti. The second litter, Hyacinth x Briar, was born March 1st. I will be keeping one of these males as well and possibly one of the females. These little ones are from my non-agouti blue lady, so I am very excited to work more with that gene in the future! Both males are blue agouti. I did forget to get one female in the picture (she was burrowed under the bedding and I didn't want to go back out for pics lol), so there are two agouti females and one blue agouti female. The third litter, Daffodil x Briar, was born March 7th. There are three males, two blue agouti and one agouti, and two blue agouti females. I will not be keeping any from this litter. If you are interested in being added to the contact list for these guys, feel free to message me and we can start your approval process!
