I have my planned pairings for December posted on the Nursery page! This means there are positions open on the adoption list for these future babies! I only have a few positions open due to the next planned pairings having a history of smaller litters. If they end up having more babies than anticipated, I'll open more positions on the lists!
As of now, I have 2 slots open on the male list and 3 on the female list. Please reach out to apply and get your spot reserved before it's gone! Contact: Phone (text only): (317) 610-1519 E-mail: gardenoftails@gmail.com Important Announcement!
Applications are open! As of now, I only have room for new applicants who are wanting females. I currently have 10 open slots for females! Please send me a message for an application if you'd like to be added to the waiting list! Since I didn't have many males produced with my current litters, I will only have enough for those already on my male waiting list. I do have one more female I am hoping has some babies for me, but it's too early to tell if she it pregnant yet. If she does have some babies for me, and produces more males, I will have room to open a few slots for the male waiting list. Come see us at Indiana's first rodent expo! I will be vending this event, which will be my first show! I won't have any ratties with me, but I'll be bringing fancy mice as well as my spinies. I've only got a few left that haven't been reserved though. All the info is on the flier below!
Pouch full of babies!
Love sitting with these guys, especially when I put my hand in with them and get all kinds of kissies and nibbles! Due to the length of my waiting lists, I will not be accepting new applications at this time. The only exceptions will be if I have babies left over after I have gone through those on my waiting lists. Some people pass on the babies available at that time due to them wanting specific varieties. If I do have babies left over, I will accept new applications ONLY for those available. Once the estimated wait time drops back down to 3-6 months, I will allow new applications to be sent in.
My next pairings will start 8/31/19. Pictures of the potential parents are posted on the Nursery tab. The most up to date pictures I have of my current babies are posted there as well. I also have some available critters on the rat and mouse tabs. Feel free to check them out! Due to the length of my waiting lists (up to 8+ months), I will not be accepting new applications at this time. I apologize for not keeping this site as up to date as I've been wanting. The past month was busy with adoptions and paper work for the ratties. I'm setting aside a little time each day this week after work to update the website. Hopefully, by the end of the weekend, I'll have nearly everything finalized! - Twister and Wolfe were paired 6/6/19. I will be weighing her periodically to see if she is gaining.
- Ducky and Finnley were placed together 6/6/19 but Ducky went back into heat. They were placed together a second time 6/11/19. - Pyroar and Littlefoot were placed together for the first time on 6/11/19. I will be monitoring all of their weights to see if they gain, which will be an indication of successful pregnancies. For pictures of the mentioned pairs, please see the Nursery page under the About the Litters tab. Updates:
- The Available Rats tab has been updated with Twister x Littlefoot's babies - The Nursery page has been updated with my most recent pictures of each of the litters - The waiting list has been updated - And, I am in the process of making an official Policies and FAQ page I will be updating my adoption fees as follows.
New Lines: $25 for a single (only available if you have one or more rats of the same sex, spayed or neutered companions, and around the same age) $20 each if you adopt a pair or more Older Lines $30 for a single (same rules apply as above) $25 each for a pair or more If you are a repeat adopter, a $5 discount will be deducted from each new rattie you adopt from me. :) Lots of time, hard work, and money goes into these guys. This is 100% A hobby for me. I have never seen profit, nor do I break even. I spend lots of out of pocket money on these guys for supplies, cages, vet bills, etc. This is NOT my job. I have a full time, 40 hour, job I work on top of this. None of their income, or the money made from my Etsy shop, is pocketed. All of those funds go towards them. They are not cheap to raise and sustain. With the increased amount of people on my waiting lists, and the increased amount of rats I have, it is taking more and more out of my pocket. While I am more than happy to pay out of pocket when needed, I do need some help from their income to continue to breed and improve ratties as a whole. I have also had several adopters and potential adopters inform me that I should increase my adoption fees, so after some thinking, I agreed with what they had to say. This will never be something I make profit from, and if I do, it will go into a savings account for emergency vet bills for these guys. Thank you all for reading this and being so kind and supporting! |
